Memphis Living

Memphis apartments are some of the best places to live–they’re good, inexpensive, and home to one of the most historic music scenes in America. Blues and BBQ aren’t the only things that make Memphis living great–but they’re a very good place to start.

Memphis Living is a Blast on Beale Street and Memphis Music

Just like fellow Tennessee metro Nashville, Memphis has a lot of music to offer. This city has already given a great deal to American music; it’s the place where Elvis Presley, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, and many other musicians from the mid-20th century got their start. In fact, the city pumped out about a dozen blues, rock, and other artists that influenced what most popular music still sounds like today.

And the Memphis music scene is hardly over. You can still find some of those same artists performing in the area today. In fact, you can find long-established musicians playing right next door to up-and-coming bands and singers all along Beale Street.

Beale Street is a national historic landmark these days. It’s also a lot of fun! You don’t even have to go inside one of the many music clubs to have a good time. Drink venders and street musicians on the sidewalk, as well as other people enjoying themselves, make the Memphis living fun on Beale Street.

Memphis Business is Booming

Memphis is one of the most prominent cities located along the Mississippi River. Two interstates and five major freight railways run through the city, ensuring its place in the shipping and transportation industry. It’s also home to Fortune 500 companies FedEx, AutoZone, and International Paper.

Tourism is also a big part of the city’s economy. Graceland is the second-most visited home in the united states, second only to the White House, with over half a million visitors every year. And tourists visit Beale Street and the surrounding district every weekend for a piece of American culture and history.

Events like Memphis in May typically pull in hundreds of thousands of people to the city. The festival makes for good Memphis living, with even more music in the town than usual. In any given year, you can bet some of the biggest bands in America will be playing.

But it’s not just about the bands. Memphis is well-known as the BBQ capital of the world. And while the Memphis living is good from all the good food year-round, May’s events involve several competitions and cook-offs where diners are the biggest winners.
